Temperature considerations
To help keep baby warm at night, consider putting on socks (inside sleeper / footed pajamas) or soft booties (outside sleeper / footed pajamas).
It is generally recommended that babies sleep in a space between 68-72 degrees F (source). If you feel comfortable in the room, then likely your baby will feel comfortable, too (source).
Avoid over-bundling baby, and know the signs of overheating: sweating, flushed/red skin, elevated heart rate, etc. (source).
Make sure light is kept to a minimum in the sleeping area; even red light can be disruptive to sleep.
Apps for tracking infant activity, sleep, & feeding schedule
While not essential, tracking things like your infant's feedings, sleep, and activities can help you understand what your child might need at any given time by understanding the βbigger pictureβ of how their day has gone so far. Tracking can also be helpful for identifying longer-term patterns in your infant's care and development. It can also be very helpful in situations where there are multiple caregivers, in order to help coordinate the baby's care and keep everyone updated.
