    • If using single-use diapers, be sure to pull ruffles out from inside the diaper — this prevents poop and pee from getting out.

    • Peek inside your baby's fat folds to make sure you get all the poo out! You may need to lift areas of skin near folds to make sure all the tiny crevices are clear. Doing this helps prevent rash/infection.

    • For baby boys, flip the penis “down” so pee goes into the diaper padding, instead of up through the waistband.

    • For wriggly babies who are able to hold things in their hands, try giving them a small toy or interesting object to keep them occupied while you change them.
